She recently completed a Master of Music degree in classical guitar performance at the Hartt School of Music under the guidance of Richard Provost and Christopher Ladd.

Her compositions have been performed by artists such as the 2010 CMA/ASCAP Innovative Programming and Commitment to Featuring New Works Award winner, the Alturas Duo. García's music has been featured in festivals in Puerto Rico and the United States including most recently the New Music Hartford contemporary music festival, the Annual Women Composers Festival in Hartford, Connecticut; and the Primer Festival de Guitarra Clásica in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
